The Shimano Speedmaster XTD Reel is a 14000-size long-range reel for carp anglers who want Shimano big-pit design without moving into the highest-price reel families. It is built around distance casting, high line capacity and a strong front drag.

The reel uses a 4.3:1 gear ratio, 103cm retrieve per handle turn and 20kg maximum drag. Its listed capacity is 550m of 0.35mm, 400m of 0.40mm or 300m of 0.45mm mono. Shimano includes HAGANE Gear, X-SHIP, Silent Drive and a CI4+ body. Those features focus on smooth drive feel, efficient gearing and reduced body weight for a reel of this size.
