Product Information
For serious anglers looking for a mid-priced long-range reel, the Shimano Ultegra 14000 XSE combines Super Slow Oscillation with Aero Wrap II line management.
These systems lay line evenly with minimal resistance, while the AR-C spool’s angled lip reduces friction as line leaves the spool for longer, more accurate casts.
A Hagane gear system sits inside a rigid, high-strength Hagane body. X-Ship supports the pinion gear at both ends with bearings to reduce friction and improve retrieve efficiency, while the Cross Carbon Drag supplies smooth, consistent pressure.
The CI4+ rotor keeps weight down, and the G-Free Body moves the centre of gravity closer to the rod.
This 14000 model has a 4.3:1 gear ratio, 20kg maximum drag and a quoted weight of 600g. Its mono capacity is 550m of 0.35mm line, 400m of 0.40mm or 300m of 0.45mm.
It carries 4+1 bearings, an anodised cold-forged aluminium spool, a screw-in forged aluminium handle and a manual bail arm.
