Shimano Baitrunner 8000D Reel

Product Information

For carp, pike and catfish fishing, the Shimano Baitrunner 8000D pairs a free-spool system with the power to tackle big fish.

It is suitable for freshwater and saltwater fishing, while the secondary drag lets a fish take line naturally before the primary drag engages for a controlled hookup.

Its XT-7 body and rotor sit around a cold-forged aluminium spool and gear, with a one-piece bail and single Biomechanical handle.

The waterproof front drag, maintenance port and shielded A-RB components are part of the reel’s construction, and the Propulsion spool-lip design reduces friction as line leaves the spool.

This size 8000 model weighs 615g and retrieves 92cm of line per crank through its 4.8:1 gearing. It has a maximum drag of 9kg, with mono capacity of 340m of 0.35mm, 230m of 0.40mm or 180m of 0.45mm line, plus 250 yards of 17lb line.
