Product Information
The Okuma Obsidian Spod Reel uses a lightweight C-40X carbon frame and side plates to keep weight down without giving up power. At 500g, it is intended to keep fatigue at bay through extended sessions.
An ultralight spool and frictionless main shaft keep retrieves smooth and resistance-free under heavy loads.
Its high-speed worm shaft transmission, one-piece bail and super-slow oscillation lay line precisely to maximise casting distance and accuracy, while the manual bail arm helps avoid crack-offs.
A 5.0:1 gear ratio returns 121cm of line per turn, backed by a fast progressive drag rated to 18kg. The shallow spool holds 390m of 0.30mm line, and the reel runs on 9+1 HPB bearings.
