Product Information

The Solar SP C-Tech Power Barrow MK2 is a powered fishing barrow for anglers moving a loaded truck across bankside terrain. Its XD 300 Pace Wheel Hub uses a 300W motor, while the Micro Touch controller has variable speed adjustment and an LCD with a six-point battery indicator.

Three gear differentials handle steep hills and all terrains.

Fully swivelling rear wheels provide 360° movement and use sealed bearings, while adjustable rear legs can take separately available mud feet.

Hidden wiring, an enclosed CPU and plug-and-play electronics leave only waterproof connection plugs visible, and the controller carries an IP68 rating. A sleep timer can switch the power off automatically.

An EVA battery case removes from the barrow while it remains loaded, although batteries are ordered separately. The frame adjusts in width and the front transport shelf extends the carrying capacity.

Solar includes a SolarCam Drop-Loc bag with zipped side access and an oversized protective cover.

Solar SP C-Tech Power Barrow MK2 Review

The SP C-Tech is one of the most impressive power barrows I've ever tested, and the MK2 is the latest version of it. From the moment you push the throttle, it's clear this is built for real-world use, not just specs on a box.

What stands out most is the combination of thoughtful engineering and raw pulling power. The 300W XD 300 Pace Wheel hub motor, coupled with the 360-degree rear wheels, makes tight manoeuvres and steep inclines feel effortless.

It's feature-rich, but all of it serves a purpose. If you fish challenging venues or just want a premium barrow that works as hard as you do, the C-Tech MK2 should be on your shortlist. With a final score of 8.9, it ranks among the very best electric barrows we've reviewed.

Build quality 9.0/10
Manoeuvrability 9.0/10
Storage Capacity 9.5/10
Value for money 8.0/10

How well is it built?

Everything about the Solar SP C-Tech feels robust. The frame is solid and well-balanced, with no flex or weak points around the key joints or load-bearing sections.

On the MK2 the frame width is adjustable and the front transport shelf extends, so it adapts to the load rather than the other way round.

The Electronic Micro Touch Power Controller has an LCD and speed control, and it's intuitive to use. I really like that the electronics are plug-and-play and waterproof with hidden wiring, so there's no clutter or exposed joins to worry about.

It gives peace of mind when you're fishing in poor weather or through winter.

The included Drop-Loc bag in SolarCam camouflage and the oversized protective cover are premium touches. They add to the sense that this is a well-engineered tool designed by people who actually fish.

Manoeuvrability

Manoeuvrability is where the C-Tech really stands out. The 360-degree rear wheels are a game changer.

On the SP C-Tech I was able to pivot the barrow on the spot even without the power switched on, which makes tight paths and turning circles a breeze. The MK2 keeps that 360° Mobility Concept System, with fully swivelling rear wheels running on bearings.

When powered up, the speed control gives a smooth ride, and Solar have added three differentials for rough terrain.

Even fully loaded, the barrow remains well-balanced. The adjustable rear wheels let you walk in a comfortable upright stance without stooping.

It's clear a lot of thought has gone into getting this right.

Storage Capacity

The frame adjusts for width to fit longer session kit, and the Drop-Loc central bag holds plenty of essentials. With the front transport shelf extended, it gives you plenty of layout options to load gear efficiently.

The centre of gravity sits nicely over the motor, which helps keep things steady even when fully loaded.

The bag itself offers easy access through the side, even when gear is stacked on top.

The 360 wheels make pushing the load smoother, but also let you position everything easily before unloading. It's a practical system that makes session prep faster and cleaner.

Is it good value for money?

At just under £1,000 with batteries, the SP C-Tech MK2 sits in the premium bracket, but it fully justifies the price. You're getting a 300W hub motor, well-sealed electronics, and a design that makes a difference in real-world angling.

The EVA battery cover can be removed without unloading the barrow, which is a genuine quality-of-life upgrade when it's time to charge.

Small touches like these set it apart from cheaper rivals. For serious anglers who need reliability, power, and practicality, the SP C-Tech MK2 is a top-tier choice.
