The Matrix Ethos Platinum Reels are made specifically for match anglers, drawing on the development behind the HX Pro reels. A lightweight aluminium body, carbon-reinforced rotor and one-piece bail arm form the build, while an easy-reach spool aids casting.
Each reel has 5+1 ball bearings.
A fast-speed SDX multi-disc drag helps when playing fish. The 5000 and 6000 models add two line clips for feeder fishing on multiple swims, plus slow oscillation and worm drive for improved line lay. They also use a minimum-resistance rotor brake.
The 3000 and 4000 use a 5.1:1 gear ratio, while the 5000 and 6000 use 4.9:1. Weights run from 307g to 435g, with 150m line capacities for diameters from 0.22mm to 0.28mm and retrieves from 79cm to 96cm per turn.
The range comes in 3000, 4000, 5000 and 6000 sizes, with matching spare spools.
