Matrix Ethos XR Reels product video - YouTube
The Matrix Ethos XR Reel is a compact coarse reel family built around feeder and float tactics. It is best viewed as a mixed-method reel for regular commercial and match-style fishing, but it must not be confused with Ethos XR rods, handles or spare spools.
Matrix lists two reel sizes. The 3000 is the lighter, neater option at 298g with 89cm retrieve, while the 3500 gives a little more retrieve and line capacity at 304g. Both models use a 5.2:1 gear ratio, 6+1 carbon steel ball bearings and a graphite anti-flex body. That makes the range feel more match focused than heavy-duty distance reels, which is right for commercial feeder work and float sessions.
The practical features are the single piece bail arm, multi-disc front drag and sensible 0.26mm line capacities, which matter for repeated casting, tidy line control and playing fish without a jumpy drag. The low weight also helps when the reel is used with shorter feeder rods.
For regular feeder and float sessions, the Ethos XR makes most sense when the size is matched to the rod and venue. The 3000 keeps the setup light for shorter work, while the 3500 adds extra capacity and retrieve for bigger venues or heavier feeder work.

| Advanced single piece bail arm | A one-piece bail gives fewer snag points and cleaner line travel around the rotor. |
| Multi-disc front drag | The drag system is designed to release line smoothly when fish surge. |
| 3000 model retrieves 89cm | The smaller model retrieves 89cm per handle turn and weighs 298g. |
| 3500 model retrieves 94cm | The larger model has a little more retrieve and capacity while only rising to 304g. |
| 0.26mm line capacities | The 3000 holds 150m of 0.26mm line, while the 3500 holds 180m of the same diameter. |

It is best for feeder and float tactics where a compact, smooth coarse reel is more suitable than a large distance reel.
The main reel sizes are 3000 and 3500. The 3000 holds 150m of 0.26mm line, while the 3500 holds 180m of 0.26mm line.
It is designed for both feeder and float fishing, so it works well as a mixed-method coarse reel.
The 3000 is lighter and slightly smaller. The 3500 retrieves more line per turn and has more line capacity.
