MAP Extremis Feeder Rod Review

When I first picked up the MAP Extremis I wasn't expecting much, then I saw the American Tackle stainless TI Force Air guides on the blank and my perception shifted pretty quickly. Skeletal guides like these are the kind of thing you see on custom rod builds, not on factory feeder rods at this price point.

The rest of the build matches that impression. Ultra-high modulus carbon blanks sourced from Toray in Japan give you a strong, crisp action, the unique rubber handle is genuinely comfortable in wet conditions and the screw-down reel seat holds rock-solid even under intense method feeder tactics.

The range covers a proper spread of fishing scenarios. Standard models run 15-25g (10ft), 20-40g (11ft) and 25-55g (12ft), and the SUV (Stepped Up Version) models step up to 25-45g (10ft SUV), 25-65g (11ft SUV) and 25-65g (12ft SUV) for heavier commercial and distance work.
