Daiwa Airity X Slim Feeder Rod Review

The Daiwa Airity X-Slim is one of the most distinctive premium feeder rods Daiwa make at the moment. It sits in their flagship feeder tier alongside the Tournament SLR but with a different design intent, built around a notably slim profile and low swing weight rather than outright distance specialism.

The blank uses Daiwa's X45X Full Shield Bias Carbon and HVF Nanoplus construction with V-Joint Alpha spigots between sections. The result is a slim, light-feeling rod that holds its shape under load, which is what you want for sustained casting on a long session.

Component spec is full Daiwa premium tier. Tournament reel seat, SeaGuide Stainless Steel Zirconia guides angled towards the tip for clean shock leader behaviour, and the cork and Duplon Armlock handle with the flat forearm pad I genuinely like for playing bigger fish.

The range covers 10ft, 11ft, 12ft and a beefed-up Power version, with casting weights running 30g to 80g. For me the 12ft is the sweet spot as the all-round feeder rod, with the 10ft and 11ft suiting tighter method work.

If you fish a mix of method and short-to-medium distance work and you want a properly slim, light-feeling premium rod, the Airity X-Slim is rated our best overall feeder rod from our reviews.
