Gardner Covert Dark Wide Gape Talon Tip Hooks combine a wide gape pattern with a beaked point, medium shank and 5-degree in-turned eye. The point shape is intended to grip positively as it takes hold, with the eye angle helping direct penetration.
The beaked profile is also stated to help keep the point in position when a fish shakes the rig, and to resist damage when fishing over gravel or other rough lake beds. The hooks use strong forged wire.
A thin matt Covert Dark electroplated finish provides camouflage while helping keep the point sharp through finishing and handling. Sizes 4, 6, 8 and 10 are available in Barbed or Barbless versions.
The micro barb format is designed to remove less wire from the hook, while barbless versions suit venues where that construction is required.
