How well is it built?

Let's be honest about the frame, because it's built to be light rather than heavy-duty. From the photos, each leg pivots on a simple bracket held by screws, the feet are plain round pads, and the mattress is laced to the black frame with braided cord through metal eyelets.

It's a straightforward design, and I think that goes a long way to explaining the low weight.

That's not a criticism as such, since the 130kg maximum load under normal use matches Trakker's dearer RLX 6 Leg Bed, and the 100% polyester outer looks tidy enough. It just doesn't have the chunkier fittings you see on heavier beds like the Avid Benchmark Ultra.

Overall, it's sound and sensible for the weight, but it isn't built like a top-end bed, and that's reflected in its build score.

Comfort & Adjustability

For me, this is where the Big Snooze gives the most ground. The mattress is a straightforward padded one, a panelled pad with a raised rim from the photos, without the memory foam or adjustable lumbar you get on dearer beds.

In fairness, a simple mattress is part of how Trakker keep the weight down, and it's still a full-length padded surface rather than a bare frame.

On the plus side, the frame lies completely flat, and at 204cm long and 78cm wide it's a little roomier than the RLX. The six legs adjust from 35 to 45cm, which is a slightly shorter range than some beds but enough for most bivvy floors.

Will it suit a bad back? Probably not as well as a bed with proper lumbar support, so overall I'd see it as comfortable enough for overnighters and short sessions rather than a week on the bank.

Ease Of Setup & Portability

Portability is the Big Snooze's strong suit.

It's over two kilos lighter than the RLX 6 Leg Bed and nearly six kilos lighter than the Avid Benchmark Ultra Standard, which makes a big difference when you're carrying everything to the swim in one trip, and to be fair, a barrow becomes optional rather than essential.

Setting up is about as quick as it gets, because you unclip it, unfold it and set the legs, and packing away is just as simple.

Trakker built it to be lightweight and compact for transport and storage, so it suits anglers who move swims a lot or fish short overnighters straight after work.

Is it good value for money?

So, does saving weight mean paying more? Not with this bed, because it costs a bit less than the RLX 6 Leg Bed and well under the memory foam beds from Avid and Solar.

The Prologic Avenger is lighter and cheaper again, but at 190 x 70cm it's shorter and narrower, so the Big Snooze makes more sense if you're tall or you like a bit of room.

Against the RLX, you're trading some comfort for a lighter carry, and I think that's a fair swap if you mostly fish short sessions.

Overall, I'd recommend the Big Snooze to mobile carp anglers, overnighters and anyone with a long walk to their swim who values a light bed over maximum comfort. If you do long sessions or suffer with your back, the RLX 6 Leg Bed is worth the extra weight.
