Product Information
Shimano built the TX-Extreme Spod & Marker as a lightweight rod with a powerful butt section, which helps you generate fast tip speeds when casting. It copes with the largest sizes of spod without being over stressed.
With a marker float, the lightweight blank delivers feel directly into your hands for finding underwater features.
The High Pressure Carbon (HPC) blank has a 3K carbon wrap up to the fifth guide for additional strength, and depth marker wraps are fitted for accuracy.
Shimano describes the casting action as very similar to the Intensity actions of its Tribal carp rods, with extreme power in the butt and a responsive tip section for faster recovery on the cast.
The rod has Seaguide Zirconia guides, a Shimano DPS reel seat and a slim shrink handle with an EVA front grip. There are 12ft and 13ft models, both with a 5lb test curve, and the 13ft is a two-piece rod.
