How Innovative Is The Design?

This is genuinely different. The inflatable construction means it deflates and rolls up flat when not in use, taking up minimal space in your bag. Inflate it in seconds like a camping pillow and you've got a 60cm long light strip ready to go.

The clever bit is there's nothing rigid to crack or break during transport. Drop your bag, knock it about in the van, chuck it in the boot, the soft inflatable design just absorbs the impact.

For anglers who are rough with their gear or travel a lot, that's a real advantage over traditional hard-cased lights.

You get three mounting options: magnetic plates for bivvy fabric, hanging loops for ribs, or velcro straps for banksticks and poles. The elongated 60cm shape spreads light more evenly across your bivvy roof compared to compact point-source lights.

Does It Provide Enough Light?

At 250 lumens maximum output, it sits in the middle of the pack for brightness. That's more than the Fox Halo (200 lumens) but less than the Ridgemonkey Base Lite IR (400 lumens). The difference is how it distributes the light.

The 60cm length spreads illumination more evenly rather than concentrating it in one spot. For general bivvy lighting that works really well, you get softer, more ambient coverage. For focused tasks like tying rigs, a point-source light might be better.

You get white, yellow and blue colour options with variable brightness control. No red light, which some anglers might miss. The colour choices are a bit different to standard setups, the yellow gives a warmer tone than most bivvy lights offer.

Will The Battery Last?

Nash claim 10-45 hours depending on brightness settings. At lowest brightness you'll get up to 45 hours, which is excellent for multiple nights fishing. At maximum brightness you're looking at around 10 hours, which is still adequate for overnight sessions.

Most anglers will use medium brightness and fall somewhere in the 20-25 hour range. That's more than enough for a long weekend session without needing to recharge. The three hour USB-C charge time is reasonable, you can top it up between trips easily.

USB-C is the modern standard and faster than old micro USB. The cable plugs in either way up, which is handy when you're fumbling about in the dark trying to charge it.

Should You Buy It?

At around the £40 mark, the Powerbanx Inflatable Lite is fairly priced for what it offers. You're paying a bit extra for the innovative design compared to traditional lights, but you're getting genuinely unique functionality.

The inflatable concept either appeals to you or it doesn't. If you value packability and worry about breaking rigid lights during transport, this is brilliant. The zero-risk-of-damage aspect is genuinely useful for anglers who are rough with their gear or travel frequently.

If you just want maximum brightness or the most features, there are better options. The Ridgemonkey Base Lite IR gives you 400 lumens and RGB colours. The Trakker Nitelife at a similar price offers bug-less amber lighting and powerbank function.

But if the inflatable design solves a problem for you, particularly around packability and durability, the Nash is worth the extra tenner. It's a clever solution that actually works rather than being a gimmick.
