Nash LRX Reels product video - YouTube
The Nash LRX Reel is a long-range carp reel family aimed at anglers who want a smooth big-pit reel for casting distance, boat work and heavy-duty line capacity. The range covers 8000 and 10000 sizes, so it can suit different spool-capacity needs.
Nash frames the LRX around careful gearing, super-slow oscillation and a fast front-drag system. The line lay is designed for braided or monofilament mainlines, while the drag moves from free-spool tension to locked-up in half a turn.
The 8000 model weighs 675g and retrieves 100cm per handle turn. The 10000 model weighs 728g and retrieves 104cm per turn, with both using a 4.9:1 gear ratio and 10kg drag power. Both sizes use 8 + 1 stainless bearings, a floating line rotor guard and an anti-twist line roller. The spring-loaded casting clip is shaped to be line friendly and easier to use with different diameters.
The folding handle packs down in four turns and uses a wooden knob for a more traditional carp-reel feel. Spare spools are available for both sizes, which helps anglers run different mainlines. That puts the LRX in the distance-carp bracket for bigger open venues, where line lay, capacity and quick drag adjustment matter more than a small reel body for shorter-range work.
| Feature | What this means |
|---|---|
| 8 + 1 Stainless Bearings | Nine bearings in total give you a genuinely smooth retrieve, even under load. Stainless steel means they hold up well in wet conditions and resist corrosion from bankside moisture. |
| 4.9:1 Gear Ratio | A lower gear ratio that favours power over speed. You will notice the difference when winding in heavy leads at range or battling a fish that is trying to reach a snag. Ideal for distance carp work. |
| Fast Drag System | Goes from free spool tension to fully locked up in just half a turn of the drag knob. That means you can set a light tension for bite indication and tighten up in a split second once a run develops. |
| Super Slow Oscillation | Lays line on the spool in very tight, even coils rather than criss-crossing it. The result is less friction on the cast and noticeably smoother line release, which translates directly into extra yards at range. |
| Spring Loaded Casting Clip | Custom machined clip that accepts any line diameter without nicking or damaging it. The spring mechanism lets you clip up quickly rather than fiddling to tuck line under a flat clip. |
| Floating Line Rotor Guard | Sits just above the line roller to prevent loose line from wrapping around the rotor mechanism during the cast or when playing a fish. A small detail that saves you from annoying tangles. |
| Anti Twist Line Roller | Reduces line twist as you retrieve, which is especially important if you are using braid. Less twist means fewer tangles and more consistent casting performance session after session. |
| Folding Handle | Folds away in just four turns for pack down. Wooden knob gives a traditional feel and a comfortable grip during long retrieves. Sits flush when folded so it will not snag in your rod bag. |
