The Lamson Liquid Max Cadet Fly Reel is a saltwater fly reel built around the Cobalt Drag System. The US-made drag uses a Teflon alloy drag cone, Carbon PEEK thrust washers and custom self-lubricating seals, and carries a certified IPX8 waterproof rating.
Its pressure-cast and machined frame and spool use a pocket spar design to maximise the strength-to-weight ratio. The ultra-large arbor sits alongside an integrated reel foot, and both the handle and the drag knob are made large for an easy grip with wet or cold hands.
The Cadet is made in sizes 6 and 8, with the size 8 matched to 7 and 8 weight fly lines. It is supplied set for left-hand retrieve with a tool to convert it to right-hand, and spare spools interchange between reels of the same size.
