How well is it built?

The Guru Amplify sunglasses come with a robust, smoke grey frame that feels well-balanced between flexibility and toughness. The matte finish resists light scratches well, and the overall build quality feels dependable without being bulky or overbuilt.

You can throw them in your net bag or dashboard without worrying about frame warping or quick wear. The hinges open with a smooth action and feel like they'll stand up to repeated use over time.

Despite the lightweight feel, they don't feel delicate, and I didn't notice any loose joins or creaky arms.

For a sub-£40 pair, they feel better made than most in this bracket.

Clarity

The rose copper lenses really shine in how they enhance contrast and depth. You get a more defined image through the water, which helps massively when trying to spot fish movement or cast tight to features.

Surface glare is reduced very effectively, and the lenses stay usable across a full range of light, from early mornings to peak brightness. What stands out most is the way these sharpen perception of depth, it feels easier to read contours and bottom changes.

Even in mid-grey overcast conditions, the lenses don't feel too dark or washed out. They’re genuinely versatile and well suited to the fast-paced environment of commercial fisheries.

Comfort & Fit

The Amplify frame has a medium profile that fits securely without squeezing at the temples or behind the ears. They're extremely lightweight, which makes them ideal for long match days where you barely notice you’re wearing them.

The shape sits close enough to the face to block peripheral light but doesn’t feel tight or intrusive. I found the fit to be spot-on for medium to large head shapes, no slipping even when casting or walking the bank.

There’s no nose pinch or awkward overhang, and the weight distribution feels nicely balanced. If you’re on the move a lot, these hold their place without needing constant adjustment.

Is it good value for money?

At around £35, the Amplify sunglasses offer excellent bang for your buck, especially for match anglers or those who fish in variable conditions. You get proper polarised lenses with well-chosen tinting, a stylish but practical frame, and full UV protection built in.

Compared to many fishing glasses in the same bracket, these stand out with their visual clarity and sharpness. You also get a branded hardcase and microfibre cloth included, which adds to the sense of quality and makes them easy to look after between sessions.
