Product Information
The Shimano Baitrunner Oceanic OC Reel suits freshwater and saltwater fishing, with the Baitrunner system allowing line to run in controlled freespool. Its rear lever sets that freespool function, a feature developed for big-fish angling.
A lightweight XT-7 body and cold-forged aluminium spool form the reel’s construction. The AR-C spool and Varispeed line lay let line leave the spool easily, while Dyna-Balance reduces retrieve wobble and the machined aluminium power crank handle provides the winding grip.
Four reel sizes run from the compact 4000 to the distance-casting 12000. The 4000, 6000 and 8000 use a 4.8:1 gear ratio, while the 12000 uses 4.4:1; weights range from 380g to 825g.
