Preston Dura Pellet Waggler Rod Review
Our Thoughts
Preston's Dura Pellet Waggler sits in the mid-budget commercial bracket at around forty quid, one clear step above the Ignition and a long way below Preston's flagship pellet waggler rods.
For me that middle ground is where most pellet waggler anglers actually land, and the Dura fills the slot honestly.
The high-modulus carbon blank carries a progressive through-action that loads through the middle and into the butt on the cast. That progressive load absorbs the shock when a fish bolts, and keeps hooklinks intact when the fight reaches the net.
I'd say the flat-butt cork-and-EVA handle is the standout feature at this price. It gives extra leverage when a commercial carp runs hard, and the screw-down reel seat locks positively under repeated casting without loosening through a session.
The 10ft is the close-range rod for island margins and tight commercial pegs where accuracy matters more than distance. The 11ft pushes the range out for mid-distance waggler work where the extra length gives better line pick-up on the strike.
At this money you are cross-shopping against the Daiwa Matchman and Nytro Impax at similar pricing.
The Dura's edge is the Preston brand and the flat-butt handle design, and for anglers already bought into Preston's commercial tackle the Dura keeps the kit consistent without stretching the budget.
