Korda's spod rod in the Kaizen Platinum range has very fast recovery and a super-fast taper, and it is very lightweight and easy to move through the air. It is good for up to around 140 yards, and in testing it was cast 51 wraps with a medium Spomb.

The blank is built on a fast tapered profile mandrel, so the taper runs consistently from butt to tip and most of the flex is towards the tip end.

It is made from ZERO90, a super tensile high-grade Japanese carbon used in just two layers with very little resin, which gives a lighter, stiffer blank that is less able to twist during the cast. A durable clear matt paint finish shows off the carbon.

Lightweight Sea-Guide TDG guides run from a 50mm butt guide to a 16mm tip ring, and the ceramic tip ring is designed for use with braid.

The reel seat is a Fuji DPS, and the handle is finished fully in Japanese shrink grip with a flared butt, which gives a good grip when your hands or the rod are wet. The etched butt cap is made by JAG.
