5 Things To Know

  1. The Bucket Table clips onto the rim of a 5L or 17L Korda bucket to make a flat rig station.
  2. Six recessed wells hold small components, and 12 rig holders keep pre-tied or baited rigs close to hand.
  3. Lift one side of the folding top to reach the bucket contents without removing the table.
  4. A reinforced underside lets the lightweight top support a fully loaded Korda box.
  5. Folded, it stores inside a 17L Korda bucket or a Compac 220, and it doesn't fit the Korda Kontainer system.

Korda Bucket Table Review

Most carp anglers already carry a bucket, so the Korda Bucket Table makes a lot of sense. It clips onto the rim of a 5L or 17L Korda bucket and turns it into a flat table for tying rigs, rebaiting and keeping the essentials close by, with six recessed wells for small bits and 12 rig holders built into the top.

What's the catch? It only works with those Korda buckets, not the Korda Kontainer system, and it has no legs of its own, so it's only as level as the bucket underneath. For a cheap, clever rig station that folds away inside a 17L bucket, though, I think it's very hard to argue with.

Build quality 7.5/10
Stability & Footing 7.5/10
Storage & Organisation 8.5/10
Value for money 9.0/10

How well is it built?

The Bucket Table is a lightweight moulded top that clips onto the bucket rim, with a reinforced underside to give it strength.

That reinforcement is strong enough to support a fully loaded Korda box sitting on top, which tells you it isn't a flimsy lid, even though it's very light to carry.

The top folds, so one side lifts up to let you into the bucket, and the whole thing folds down small enough to store inside a 17L Korda bucket or a Compac 220.

There's nothing to assemble and no legs or locks to wear out, which keeps it simple and should keep it going for a long time.

To be fair, it isn't an aluminium table, and it won't feel as solid under your hands as the Sonik Bank-Tek Bivvy Table or the Avid Revolve Bivvy Table. For a clip-on workstation at this price, though, I think the build is sensible, and 7.5 is a fair score.

Stability & Footing

How steady is a table on a bucket? That depends pretty much entirely on the bucket.

The Bucket Table clips onto the rim, so a full bucket on firm, flat ground gives you a solid base, but there are no adjustable legs or feet to take out a slope, and you can't level it on a lumpy bivvy floor the way you can a legged table.

The height is set by the bucket too, so it suits sitting on a chair or kneeling beside it to tie rigs rather than reaching across from a bedchair. A 17L bucket puts the top higher than a 5L one, and it's also the size the table folds away inside.

The good news is that a bucket with bait or kit inside carries its weight low, so it should be hard to knock over. Overall, it's stable enough for a rig station, but the lack of levelling is why it scores 7.5.

Storage & Organisation

This is where the Bucket Table earns its place. Six recessed wells hold small components like beads, swivels and hooks while you tie rigs or rebait, and 12 rig holders keep pre-tied or baited rigs ready to go. For a rig station, that's a lot of organisation in a small footprint.

The folding top is clever too. Lift one side and you can get into the bucket without unclipping the table, so spare bait, leads or a bottle of glug can live underneath and stay within reach.

When you're done, it folds down into a 17L Korda bucket or a Compac 220, with room left for a Korda box on top.

For me, that's more organisation than you'd expect for the money, and while the Trakker Deluxe Bivvy Table also has rig storage and tool slots, it costs a lot more. I think 8.5 is well deserved.

Is it good value for money?

Is it worth buying? At roughly half the cost of the Sonik Bank-Tek Bivvy Table, I think it's an easy yes if you already own a 5L or 17L Korda bucket. You get a rig station with wells and rig holders for less than a basic aluminium table, and it uses kit you're carrying anyway.

The catch is the bucket. If you don't have the right Korda bucket, you'll need to buy one, and it won't fit the Korda Kontainer system.

It also isn't a true bedside table, so if you want a level surface beside the bed for your phone and alarm receiver, the Trakker Carbon Effect Bivvy Table or the Sonik Bank-Tek is the better fit.

Overall, I'd recommend the Bucket Table to carp anglers who already use a Korda 5L or 17L bucket and want a tidy spot to tie rigs and rebait on the bank, without adding another bulky item to the barrow.
