Drennan Super Specialist Compact Twistlock Handle Review
The Drennan Super Specialist Compact Twistlock Handle is a really clever bit of kit if you need a landing net handle that packs away small. It's also excellent value for money. What makes this handle special is how compact it is when closed. At just 1.15m, it'll fit easily in the back of a car, in a boat, or strapped to your back when you're stalking.
The quarter turn twist-lock mechanism is brilliant - just one quick twist of the collar and it locks at any length up to 2m. This is much faster than messing about with threaded sections when a fish shows up.
Despite being a telescopic design, it's surprisingly rigid. The high modulus carbon construction and wide band graphite wrap give it good stiffness, so you don't get that wobble you sometimes see with cheaper telescopic handles.
The machined brass thread is pinned and reinforced too, which means it's built to last. It's perfect for stalking sessions where you're moving light and need to react quickly. Same goes for boat fishing or roving around venues where you don't want to be lugging a 4m handle everywhere.
