The Daiwa 22 Whisker 45 QDA Reel, also known as the 22 Whisker 45 SCW QD OT, is a big pit carp reel built around long-range casting and large-water line capacity. It sits below Daiwa's highest-end big pit reels but carries several distance-focused features from that family.

The reel uses a 45mm LC long cast spool with Slow Cross Wrap line lay. Together, those systems are designed to help line leave the spool with less friction during bigger casts. Its QDM drag is a key point of difference. This drag style gives a full open-to-closed drag movement in one full turn, while the usual Daiwa QD movement is shorter.

The standard spool takes 300m of 0.35mm mono, and the reel is supplied with two additional spools. Those spare spools cover 530m and 700m of 0.35mm mono, which gives anglers more flexibility for different venues and line setups.
