Gardner’s Continental Retention Sling XL is the larger Retention Sling, made to safely weigh and temporarily retain the biggest carp in UK and overseas waters.

It avoids moving a fish between a weigh sling and sack, and gives it time to recover before weighing, treatment or photography.

Large soft mesh panels allow water exchange, while solid upper side panels reduce light penetration to help keep the fish calm. The sling gives large carp room without allowing them to turn, and is not so deep that a fish can rub on the lake bed.

A full-length zip secures the fish, with floats keeping the sling on the surface. Single-piece solid composite poles are strong and lightweight, while hi-vis reflective bands show its position in low light. A 4m retaining cord with a 3/8 BSF clip attaches to a standard bankstick.
