For shore distance casting, the Daiwa 26 Tournament Basia Surf 45SCW QD combines a 45mm surf spool with Slow Cross Wrap line lay and an LC twin-lip design. Its 2° spool taper and reduced line resistance are made to increase casting energy and distance.
A lightweight, torque-resistant Zaion Airdrive rotor sits with a weight-saving Zaion body, while the hollow-pipe Airdrive Bail reduces weight while retaining rigidity and toughness.
Mag Sealed protection keeps salt, water-borne debris and abrasives out of the gearing, and Tough Digigear, Twistbuster III and Infinite Anti-Reverse complete the mechanism.
The shallow main spool holds 300m of 0.18mm line and suits thin braid, while the supplied spare spool holds 300m of 0.35mm monofilament.
It weighs 515g, retrieves 98cm per handle turn at 4.1:1 and carries a 15kg Quick Drag, HIP line clip and screw-in aluminium handle with a Hi-Grip T-shaped knob.
