For shore fishing, the Daiwa 23 Emblem Surf 45 SCW-Qd Reel uses ZAION V through the body and rotor.

This carbon-based composite is lighter and more resistant than traditional materials, stays corrosion free, and the reel is 25g lighter than its previous model while remaining designed for shore-fishing rigours.

Powerful Digigear II works with Magsealed protection for smooth, trouble-free use. AirBail and Twistbuster II guide line back onto the spool, while the Magsealed design protects the shaft from saltwater and dirt particles. The reel has six ball bearings.

A 45mm LC Long Cast spool and Slow Cross Wrap line lay are made for casting performance, with the special spool rim reducing friction during the cast. The shallow spool holds 300m of 0.30mm line, and a deeper spare spool holds 300m of 0.35mm line.

QD shortens the adjustment between a locked casting setting and your preferred drag.
