For working big baits for large fish, the Abu Garcia Max5Lp Low Profile Reel combines larger line capacity with high maximum drag ratings. The Max Predator LP series is also offered in matched combos for fishing from bass through to muskie.
Its C6 carbon body and side plates house Duragear brass gearing, a 4+1 bearing system and the Power Stack Carbon Matrix drag system. MagTrax braking sits alongside a 95 mm aluminium handle with oversized co-moulded soft-touch knobs.
The 300LP has a 6.4:1 gear ratio and a maximum drag rating of 20 lb, while the 400LP has a 5.3:1 ratio and a 26 lb maximum drag rating. The 400LP holds 270 m of 0.32 mm mono or 380 m of 20 lb braid.
