How well is it built?

The Guru A-Class Distance Method 12ft is the dedicated 2-piece distance specialist within Guru's ten-rod A-Class feeder family.

It's a step up from the 3-piece A-Class Medium Feeder 12ft (1-70g), adding a heavier 1-80g casting window, 2-piece construction and the Overcap Progressive Power action tuned for longer-range method feeder work on bigger commercial and natural venues.

The blank is 24T tensile carbon, the same entry-tier modulus that runs across the A-Class family. Rod weight is 230g, light enough for a full-day session without arm fatigue.

The Overcap Progressive Power action bends into the middle section under load rather than loading only through the tip. That gives a cushioned feel against fast-running commercial carp and absorbs lunges at the net on heavier method feeders at range.

Guides are stainless steel frame with titanium oxide ring inserts, and the reel seat is a downlocking DPS unit with an EVA fore grip that stays warmer on cold days than exposed graphite.

For me, the 12ft length is the natural sweet spot for distance method work on typical UK commercial pits. At 20 to 50 yards with a loaded method feeder, the 1-80g casting window gives you real headroom for 40 to 60g payloads at range.

The Overcap Progressive Power action shows its hand on the forward stroke. Loading down into the middle section rather than tip-loading gives you a cleaner energy transfer under heavier method feeders, without the blank folding at the release.
