Product Information
The Fox Horizon X5 Black Rods are a higher-grade carp rod range for anglers who want long-cast performance without moving into the X6 price bracket. They update the older Horizon X5-S idea with blacked-out fittings, a full shrink handle and a cleaner modern finish.
The blank uses ultra high modulus carbon with multidirectional nanofibre and interlaminar resin. Fox adds a 1k carbon wrap and reinforced carbon power joints, so the range is built around recovery speed, accuracy and strength through the joints.
The main carp-rod options cover 12ft 3.25lb, 12ft 3.5lb, 12ft 4lb, 13ft 3.5lb and 13ft 4lb models. That gives anglers a clear spread from strong all-round carp rods through to heavier long-range and big-water choices.
American Tackle Delta-Lite guides run from 50mm down to 16mm, with the butt guide and second guide double legged for extra strength. The rods also use an American Tackle 18mm DPS matt black reel seat.
The finish is deliberately understated, with matt black guides, black collars and cappings, Japanese shrink wrap and an EVA comfort foregrip. It is best viewed as a polished distance-capable range where the chosen length and test curve matter more than the name alone.
The 4lb versions are the strongest choices in the family.
