Drennan Acolyte Specimen Float

Product Information

With greater reserves of power than Drennan's Acolyte Plus models, the Acolyte Specimen Float is a slim, balanced float rod for bigger floats and larger specimens. The forward action is still soft enough for catching smaller fish on light hooklengths.

Drennan tested the rods over two seasons on venues from big fast flowing rivers to deep gravel pits, landing big chub, tench, barbel and carp.

The blank is slightly stiffer than the Plus, with a fast action tip that improves line management and pick up and gives better float control at distance. A progressive semi-through action puts plenty of power lower down the blank for playing specimen sized fish.

The rod has a full cork handle, a Fuji DPS reel seat and SiC guides throughout.

Construction is traditional three-piece, and the rod comes in 13ft, 14ft and 15ft lengths. Optimum reel lines are 3lb to 7lb with lighter hooklengths.
