Drennan Acolyte Maggot Plus is a forged, micro barbed spade-end hook for maggots, casters and small sections of worm.

The pattern is described as a stronger version of the Silverfish hook, with a thicker gauge than the Finesse series, sharp long-lasting needle points and a PTFE coating.

It is intended for small to medium-sized fish while retaining enough strength for slightly bigger fish during silverfish sessions. As a loose hook pattern it can be used with suitable hooklength material for ordinary coarse-fishing presentations.

The barbed choice is available in ordinary sizes 14, 16 and 18 when tied to fluorocarbon. The recorded lengths are 30cm, with breaking strains of 4lb, 3lb and 2lb 8oz respectively.
