For anglers fishing at longer range, Daiwa’s 20 Crosscast 35 SCW Reel combines Slow Cross Wrap with an LC long cast and LC-ABS spool. Daiwa says the 35mm version can reach mainstream distances well over 100m, while the HIP High Impact Clip makes distance control easier.
Its DS4 body, DS4 Air Rotor and DS4 side plate carry a forged aluminium spool and Digigear II. A Twistbuster 2 line roller, Infinite Anti-Reverse, anti-reverse lever and manual bail trip complete the reel, with an aluminium machine-cut handle finished with a T-shaped knob.
QD Quick Drag helps when setting up for the take, and both models retrieve 103cm per handle turn through a 4.9:1 ratio with three bearings and 15kg drag. The 5000C QD holds 300m of 0.35mm line, and the deeper 5000LD QD holds 530m of 0.35mm.
