Daiwa Saltist Level Wind
Product Information
For UK down-tide fishing, the Daiwa Saltist Level Wind combines a level-wind layout with an all-metal body, rigid one-piece aluminium frame and side plates.
It is a tough boat reel, with sizes 20, 30 and 40 covering the range, and the level wind brings useful convenience to this style of fishing.
Inside, the high-brass drive gear and phosphor-bronze pinion form Daiwa’s Digigear, which delivers up to 30% greater winding power.
Five bearings, including two corrosion-resistant CRBB bearings, support smooth running, while the machined aluminium spool, steel-and-fibre ATD drag, oversized star drag and dual anti-reverse system make up the reel’s working package.
Sizes 20 and 30 use a 6.1:1 retrieve and bring back 89cm of line per handle turn, while the 40 uses a 6.4:1 ratio and retrieves 120cm.
Maximum drag rises from 15lb or 7kg on the 20 and 30 to 20lb or 9kg on the 40, and each reel also has a spool click, a solid rod clamp and a dual-position power handle.
