Preston Ignition Station SL 360 Seatbox
Product Information
Preston’s Ignition Station SL 360 Seatbox combines a seatbox with a padded rotating seat, so the angler can turn through 360 degrees. That movement makes it easier to fish tighter pegs, while the lightweight design keeps the box straightforward to handle.
A sliding, fully adjustable footplate raises or lowers the box height without extra trays. The seatbox stands on four telescopic 30mm legs and two standard 30mm legs, with strong ABS plastic clips securing the build.
There are two front drawers and one side drawer for accessories. The rotating seat is padded for comfort, and the 360 model swivels where a conventional seatbox has a fixed seat position.

Preston Ignition Station SL 360 Seatbox Review
Ever had to twist awkwardly on a cramped commercial peg just to reach your bait or your landing net? That's the problem the Preston Ignition Station SL 360 Seatbox is built to solve. Its padded seat rotates through a full 360 degrees, so you turn the seat rather than the whole box, and on a tight peg where there's no room to shuffle about, that's a big help.
Beyond the swivel, it's a lightweight station with a sliding footplate, six legs and three drawers for your bits and pieces. For me, it sits in a sweet spot in Preston's range, well below the flagship Absolute Station on cost but with the comfort features most match and pleasure anglers actually want from a seatbox.
How well is it built?
The Ignition SL 360 is a station-style box, so the seat unit sits on a frame with a leg at each corner and a footplate out in front. It stands on four telescopic 30mm legs and two standard ones, and the frame is held together with strong ABS plastic clips.
Any side trays, feeder arms or bait waiters you add will need the 30mm fitting, so bear that in mind when you're buying accessories.
The telescopic legs are the important bit for UK venues. They let you level the box on a sloping bank or extend the front pair into the margins on a deep peg, while the standard legs add stability.
The swivel sits on a plate fixed to the top of the box, and the whole thing is finished in black with Preston's blue Ignition branding.
To be fair, it isn't built to the same level as the Preston Absolute Station, which is the flagship and costs a lot more. For a lightweight mid-range box, though, I think the build is very good, and the 8.5 reflects that.
Storage & Organisation
Storage is where the Ignition SL 360 keeps things simple. You get two front drawers and one side drawer, which is enough for hooklengths, floats, shot, feeders and the other small accessories you reach for all session.
The side drawer makes a lot of sense on a box with a swivel seat, because you can simply turn to face it.
What you don't get is a deep tray or a stack of extra units. The sliding footplate does the job that extra trays would on some boxes, setting your height without adding bulk, so the Ignition stays compact and light.
If you carry a lot of pole rigs, you'll want a separate winder case alongside it.
Is it enough storage? For most commercial and club matches I think it is, but anglers who like everything in one box might find it a little tight, and that's why it scores 8.0 for storage rather than higher.
Comfort & Ergonomics
This is the Ignition SL 360's strongest area, and it's the main reason to buy one. The padded seat turns a full circle, so you can face your side tray, your bait or a margin line without lifting yourself off the seat or twisting your back.
On a tight peg with a hedge behind you or a neighbour close by, that should make a long match a lot more comfortable.
The padding matters too, as you're sitting on it for hours at a time. The footplate slides and adjusts fully, so you can get your knees at the right angle and your feet planted whichever way the bank slopes.
For me, that combination of a swivel seat and a properly adjustable footplate is pretty much everything you want for comfort on a station box.
It's lightweight as well, which helps on the walk to a far peg and when you're setting up. Overall, I think the 9.0 is well earned.
Is it good value for money?
So, is it good value? It costs about the same as the Matrix F25 Pro Swivel Seat Box, which also has a swivel seat, so the choice between them may come down to brand loyalty and which accessories you already own.
The MAP H36 Lite costs a bit less if a rotating seat isn't on your list.
Against the Preston Absolute Station, the Ignition is a good deal cheaper. The Absolute is Preston's flagship, with a more premium build, but plenty of anglers won't need that level of kit to enjoy their fishing or to compete in club matches.
Overall, I'd recommend the Ignition Station SL 360 to match and pleasure anglers who fish tight commercial pegs and want a comfortable, lightweight box that turns with them. If you need masses of storage or a flagship build, the Absolute Station is the one to look at instead.
