How Stable Is the MAP H36 Lite?
The build quality on the H36 Lite is genuinely impressive for what's marketed as a compact box. MAP have upgraded this from the previous 30mm legs to proper 36mm diameter legs, and the difference is night and day.
I've set this up on some properly uneven riverbanks and it just doesn't budge once you've got it level. The large swivel mud feet bite into soft ground brilliantly, and the fully extending telescopic legs give you all the height adjustment you could need.
The aluminium frame is rated to 150kg, which is more than adequate. It's lightweight without feeling flimsy - that's the clever bit MAP have managed here. One feature that really stands out is the aluminium skeleton frame built into the underside of the seat.
This takes your weight directly rather than putting pressure on the drawers below, which means you can still slide drawers open easily when you're sat down - something that genuinely bugs me on cheaper boxes.

Is There Enough Storage Space?
Let's be straight about this - the H36 Lite isn't designed for anglers who need to carry everything including the kitchen sink. It comes with one shallow drawer and one deep drawer, and that's your lot as standard.
For short sessions or if you fish with a focused, scaled-down approach, it's actually plenty. The drawers are divided, so you can organise your tackle logically, and the water-resistant seals mean everything stays dry even when the heavens open.
