Fox Frontier II bivvy range overview - YouTube
The Fox Frontier II XL Bivvy is the largest main bivvy in the Frontier II range, built for carp anglers who want maximum internal space from a quick-erect shelter. The XL size is the choice for longer sessions, more kit, or anglers who prefer extra headroom and usable floor area.
The shelter uses khaki VenTec polyester fabric with blackout laminate lining and a 20,000mm hydrostatic head. That places it in the serious all-weather bivvy category, not a lightweight day shelter. The aluminium frame has a high, flat-back design to improve headroom. Fox also updated the Frontier II with a geared ETS boss, spring-loaded elbow joints and a quicker release trigger, all aimed at making setup and pack-down more controlled.
The front panel gives three door options: solid, clear and camo mozzy mesh. Mesh panels on both sides of the door, all-weather vents and internal mesh pockets make the shelter more liveable during longer stays.
Published dimensions for the XL are 270cm by 210cm by 165cm, with a weight around 20.46kg. This is a spacious session bivvy, best suited to anglers who prioritise comfort and protection over minimum carry weight.
It makes most sense where the swim is settled for a night or more, rather than for roving between pegs.
| Feature | What this means |
|---|---|
| XL Frontier II size | The XL version gives the most internal space in the main Frontier II bivvy line. |
| 270 x 210 x 165cm dimensions | The footprint and height suit anglers who want room for bedchair, luggage and longer-session comfort. |
| 20,000mm hydrostatic head | The waterproof rating is suited to sustained poor weather rather than light shower protection only. |
| VenTec blackout fabric | The fabric helps with weather protection and keeps the shelter darker inside. |
| High flat-back frame | The frame shape improves headroom and gives more usable space at the rear of the bivvy. |
| Geared ETS boss | The boss system helps stop the frame collapsing during setup. |
| Spring-loaded elbow joints | The updated joints help the frame align cleanly during assembly. |
| Three door options | Solid, clear and mozzy mesh door options let the angler adapt the front panel to weather and insects. |
| All-weather ventilation | Vent access helps manage airflow and condensation during longer sessions. |
| 20.46kg weight reference | The weight confirms this is a comfort-focused session bivvy rather than a roving shelter. |
