Rooney's Twists were developed over nearly 12 months. Hooks from different factories were considered before samples were sent to anglers across the UK and Ireland, with feedback focused mainly on fishing for bass and pollock.

That testing helped shape the finished hook, the five-hook pack quantity and the deliberately minimal packaging. Each pack contains five hooks, with sizes 3/0, 4/0, 5/0 and 6/0 available. This keeps the same Rooney's Twists pattern available across four sea-hook sizes.
