The Airity Pro showcases Daiwa's commitment to using only the finest materials, with premium Japanese carbon fibre and the advanced Super MSG Nanoplus technology creating a pole that strikes an impressive balance between strength and responsiveness.

The V-Joint Alpha system provides additional reinforcement at critical stress points without compromising the pole's overall balance or handling.

The protective features also deserve mention, with PTFE nose cones on all No.3 sections preventing damage when breaking down to land fish, and EVA bungs on the mini extensions protecting the main sections from compression damage.

How does it perform and handle?

In use, the Airity Pro is a thing of real beauty. The sharper response compared to its predecessor is immediately noticeable, particularly when employing active techniques like slapping pellets where instant feedback is crucial.

The improved balance makes the pole comfortable to use at longer lengths, and it was very easy to slap a rig with this pole during testing.

This ease of use is particularly valuable during longer sessions, enabling you to keep on top of your game for longer. When connected to larger fish, the pole's power reserves come into their own, allowing you to apply serious pressure with confidence.

The progressive power curve provides excellent fish control, and the pole has a much improved wall strength, and you can certainly feel it in the hands.

What's particularly impressive is how the pole handles repeated stresses, so much so that even after slapping a rig hundreds or thousands of times, the Airity Pro just takes it all in its stride.

The section alignment system ensures optimal rigidity and performance when fully assembled, while the easy-slide finishes provide smooth shipping even in challenging conditions.

All of the features on the Airity Pro combine perfectly to create a pole that performs consistently, regardless of the techniques employed or the size of the fish encountered.

What are the kit and spares options like?

Kits & Spares The kit packages for the Airity Pro represent a significant upgrade over previous generations, with Daiwa's new Professional top kits receiving particular praise from reviewers.

Both package options include eight specialist top kits, with the "More Power" package featuring four Professional Commercial 4.7mm kits and four Professional Power 5.8mm kits, while the "More F1" package includes four Interlastic Speed 5.8mm kits and four Professional F1 4.7mm kits.

The Professional Commercial 4.7mm kits replace the old Power Kit, and upon review, they are definitely more refined than their predecessor.

Designed primarily for commercial work, they can handle up to black Hydrolastic and come with factory-fitted side pullers. The Professional Power 5.8mm kits feature a different taper to the Commercial kits.

The slower taper allows for a stiffer kit, which can be used with red Hydrolastic. These kits are "designed not to bend as much when playing fish," making them ideal for bagging sessions with larger carp.

Both packages also include the innovative Professional Cupping Kit, which features a take-apart top that is only 65cm in length, making it ideal for scooping bait into the cup easily.

This thoughtful design is another example of Daiwa's attention to practical details. The inclusion of PMP 5/6 and 7/8 reversible extensions adds further value.

Is it good value for money?

Okay, so the Daiwa Airity Pro represents a significant investment. However, when considered alongside the exceptional performance, comprehensive kit package, and legendary Daiwa build quality, it offers compelling value for the serious angler.

It does sit one notch below Daiwa's flagship offering, the Air Z Pro; however, it is considerably cheaper yet still positions itself as a premium option that provides much of the flagship's performance at a more accessible price point and is absolutely still one of the best poles available to buy. Daiwa does have an uncanny knack to retain very good residual values.

What I mean by this is that when the time comes to upgrade, there's always a strong second-hand market eagerly waiting. The inclusion of eight specialist top kits, along with a cupping kit, extensions, and storage solutions, adds significant value to the package.

For competitive anglers who fish multiple venues, targeting various species, the versatility and comprehensive nature of the package eliminates the need for multiple specialist poles or additional top kit purchases.

The pole's compatibility with Daiwa's earlier Tournament mandrel poles also adds value for existing Daiwa owners and is one of the reasons why the Daiwa platform is so popular with coarse and match anglers.
