Team Daiwa Tackle Trolley Review

The Team Daiwa Trolley is one of those bits of kit that punches above its weight. I picked it up to use with a TDSB1 seat box and it handled it with no issues whatsoever. It’s the adjustability that sets this trolley apart. You can tailor the arms and supports exactly to your setup, which makes a big difference when you’re navigating slopes or rough ground.

It folds down in seconds and fits easily in the car. At 7.4 overall, it’s not a powerhouse, but it’s a dependable, compact workhorse that makes mid-range trolleys worth considering.

Build quality 7.0/10
Manoeuvrability 7.5/10

Value for money 8.5/10

How well is the Team Daiwa Tackle Trolley built?

The frame is well-made for its price point. Welds are tidy, and the black coating holds up reasonably well with occasional touch-ups. You won’t get the same ruggedness as from a heavy-duty carp barrow, but for a match trolley, it’s respectable.

Solid foam wheels are a smart inclusion. They’re never going to go flat and they roll cleanly over tarmac, grass and gravel.

The axle feels secure, though it’s worth checking the fixings every now and then after longer walks. The plastic hardware is minimal but functional. Nothing felt flimsy during use, and the overall construction is geared toward portability over brute strength.

How does it handle on the bank?

I’ve wheeled this over compacted gravel, woodchip tracks and grassy banks, and it moves with minimal fuss. The 60cm base gives it a stable footprint, so it doesn’t tip or wobble easily, even when loaded unevenly.

The solid wheels glide smoothly, and because the trolley’s quite narrow, turning in tighter spots is no hassle.

If you tend to park far from your peg, it’s a genuine back-saver. It’s not designed for boggy or off-road terrain, but for what it’s made for, getting a seat box and kit across managed venues, it performs spot on.

How much can it carry and store?

The adjustability of the base and arms means you can get a snug fit with different box systems, which really helps with stability. I’ve used it with a standard seat box, with enough tackle for a days fishing, and it handled the lot without drama.

It’s compact, but the base frame can be extended to give a nice flat footprint for strapping items on securely.

If you're packing light for a pleasure session, it works brilliantly. Because it folds completely flat, it doesn’t hog storage space in the boot or shed. For short trips, it carries exactly what you need and nothing more.

Is it good value for money?

The Team Daiwa Tackle Trolley delivers excellent functionality from a recognised brand. The adjustable base, removable wheels and fold-down frame make it highly versatile. It’s one of the most compact match trolleys I’ve tested that still feels robust in use.

It’s not for carrying huge loads, but for anglers focused on seat box setups, it’s a top contender. It features in our list of the best trolleys for seat boxes, and for good reason.
