Product Information

The Shimano TX-2A is the current version of Shimano's value-focused Tribal carp rod. Seven two-piece models cover 10ft, 12ft and 13ft lengths, with test curves from 2.75lb to the 3.5lb-plus Intensity rods.

The TX-2A uses a High Modulus Full Carbon blank with a progressive action, low-friction Seaguide Zirconia guides, a Shimano DPS reel seat and an EVA grip. Its fittings are black, unlike the silver fittings on the discontinued original TX-2.

The separate historic review covers the original Shimano TX-2 rather than the current TX-2A. Its photographs, specifications and score therefore apply only to that discontinued model.
